Support for Office for Mac 2011 ended on October 10, 2017. All of your Office for Mac 2011 apps will continue to function. However, you could expose yourself to serious and potentially harmful security risks. Upgrade to a newer version of Office so you can stay up to date with all the latest features, patches, and security updates. Seems the skype for business mac client is only compatible with 10.11, and up. My company is on 10.10, and not sure if it's worth upgrading everyone to 10.11 just to be able to run this app. So to confirm there will be no compatibility with OS X Yosemite, correct? Yesterday they updated the macbooks and iMacs on macOS Sierra. Since this update they cannot use the Lync 2011 (Version 14.4.1) anymore. They get this error: 'Login at Lync failed, because the service is not available or there is no connection to the internet' So now my question to the community: Is Lync2011 (14.4.1) compatibel to macOS Sierra.

2016-9-21 Have you tried a more recent version with your service provider? July 2016 update for Lync for Mac 2011 14.4.1 (KB3175174) is more than an update. It's a full installer, and the product does work with Sierra. At least: it launches, allows me to sign in, presents the list of contacts and groups. For updates you can use Microsoft AutoUpdate or download and install manually from the above URL.
